Did you know? Saskatchewan is home to Canada’s version of the Dead Sea. Little Manitou Lake is 3x saltier than the ocean and is a one-of-a-kind natural attraction in North America.

Speaking of Saskatchewan, there are many weird and unusual places to visit in the prairies province. From snake pits to sand dunes, this underrated province has a lot of cool things to see.

Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park is a natural park in Canada straddling the Alberta / Saskatchewan boundary and jointly administered by the two provinces. Located southeast of Medicine Hat, we visited the Alberta portion a couple of years ago and it really felt like an oasis.

  • Just like tourism, we love supporting Canadian TV shows and movies, and it looks like Blackberry (a great movie for those wanting insight into one of Canada’s most famous companies) and Little Bird (a great series about the Sixties Coop) are up for many awards.   • Riding the gondola at Whistler is a must-do for many tourists but getting stuck on it for three hours is usually not part of the experience.

  • Air Canada and WestJet are raising baggage fees.

  • Visiting Vancouver Island soon? 200 mini earthquakes have been detected off Vancouver Island in one hour. Scientists say it's a sign that a deepsea magma eruption will occur in the Pacific Ocean in as soon as a few weeks.
