Things to Do in Canada 168

Good morning!

Did you know? This week is National Tourism Week in Canada. Before COVID-19, Canada was breaking all sorts of tourism records, such as welcoming a record 22 million international overnight visitors in 2019 and enjoying $105 billion in tourism dollars the same year.

Long story short, thanks to unmatched wilderness, great cities, history, food, and unique attractions, tourism is big business for Canada.

As we think about some of the incredible things we’ve experienced in Canada, one of our top memories is a road trip we did to Tuktoyaktuk back in 2017. Not only is driving the Dempster Highway through the Yukon and NWT wild and beautiful, but we were one of the first people to ever drive the new highway to Tuktoyaktuk from Inuvik. In fact, it wasn’t even open to the public yet. Instead, they sent us up with a construction crew so that we could include it in our video. It’s been long open to the public now, so if you’re looking for a remarkable road trip adventure, this one is hard to beat.

So without further ado, enjoy the 168th edition of the Weekly Goose.

During that road trip we did to Northern Canada in 2017, we produced a number of videos about the experience. The two main videos feature the Northwest Territories and the Yukon as a whole, but we decided to use some of our extra footage to make one about Tuktoyaktuk as well. Enjoy!
