Things to Do in Canada 174

Good morning!

Did you know? Ontario is home to more than 250,000 lakes, which contain about one-fifth of the world’s freshwater!

Speaking of Ontario, it’s also home to many spas, which we’ll feature in this newsletter. So if you’re looking for the ultimate relaxation in Ontario, we’ve got you covered!

But before you dig in, we’d love it if you could help us with this short survey we created to get a better understanding of our subscribers. Some of you have already filled this out but if you haven’t, please do! We’ll also randomly pick someone and send them a $50 gift card as a thank you. It’s only four questions and will take 2 minutes. Click here to access the survey.

  • Planning on visiting Ontario for some spa action? You may want to avoid some roads. CAA just released their list of the 10 worst roads in Ontario, five of which are around Toronto.

  • Via Rail is known for its delays, something we’re experiencing as we travel on their “Ocean” line from Montreal to Halifax. These delays are mostly due to the fact that CN Rail owns most of the tracks and prioritizes cargo over passengers. However, Ottawa is looking to change this.

  • If you thought Canada Goose products were already expensive, they’re about to go even higher. With sales dropping almost everywhere, they’re trying to become a “luxury” brand, which will include higher prices and new products such as sneakers. Don’t worry though. If your goal is a warm winter jacket, there are plenty of other options.

  • Indigenous singer Rebecca Strong just won $1,000,000, the largest cash prize in Canadian television history via Canada’s Got Talent.

  • Perhaps Saskatchewan can start promoting “space” tourism soon. After all, a piece of space junk just landed on this farmers’ land. Better keep your head up.

  • Looking for something new to read? Check out the works of Alice Munro, the Canadian Nobel laureate that was heralded as one of the greatest short story writers of all time. She recently passed away but her work lives on. Here are five of her best stories to get started.
