Did you know? The eco-activist group Greenpeace, one of the most successful environmental groups worldwide, was founded in Vancouver in 1971. Volunteers first met in Gastown’s Luna Café, which is no longer open. They originally came together to try and stop nuclear bomb testing in Alaska.
