Things to Do in Canada 200
Good morning!
Did you know? Waterton Lakes National Park is part of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park (IPP), created in 1932 as a symbol of peace and goodwill between Canada and the United States. It also became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 and attracts around 500,000 visitors each year. However, 50% of those visit in July and August.
It might come as no surprise that most people choose to go during the busy summer months. After all, it’s when you’ll score the nicest weather. However, there’s more to it than that. Having visited in the winter, we can tell you that it’s a very different place. Most hotels and restaurants are closed. Most attractions are closed. Trails can be good but they can also be closed due to avalanches. However, if you’re seeking peace and solitude, it might just be the best time to visit.
Whether you’re interested in visiting during the summer or the winter, we’ve got you covered in the 200th edition of the Weekly Goose, which features guides to Waterton Lakes National Park in all seasons, a video about our winter trip to the area, and a variety of fun and interesting travel news.
Enjoy!
