Nunavut Day
Good morning!
Did you know? Canada has the longest coastline of any country on Earth, and Nunavut has the longest coastline of any region in Canada.
Speaking of Nunavut, today is Nunavut Day, commemorating the day in 1993 when the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement was signed, marking the creation of Nunavut as a separate territory within Canada.
We’ve only been to Nunavut once, cruising with Adventure Canada to some of its most remote regions, which says a lot considering how remote the entire territory is. We saw walruses floating by the boat on ice, visited the site of the infamous Franklin Expedition, met the locals of Pond Inlet, and had a coffee at the most Northern Tim Horton’s in the world. We’ll share more about the experience below, but we still have so many bucket list adventures left in this amazing Northern slice of Canada.
Learn more about travelling to this wild place in the 232nd edition of the Weekly Goose!
Enjoy!

When we did our 150-day road trip across Canada in 2017, Nunavut was the only place we missed. After all, there are no roads to get there! Thankfully, two years later, we teamed up with Adventure Canada to cruise through the High Arctic, visiting Nunavut and Greenland.

If you’re into art and visiting Toronto, you’ll want to stop by MOCA to experience Jeff Wall’s First Major Canadian Exhibition in over 25 Years. The landmark exhibition will feature more than 50 of Wall’s iconic photographs, marking the artist’s most expansive Canadian presentation to date.

While we’re certainly not in the category of buying a second home on a lake, this is why cottage co-ownership is on the rise in Canada.
Even the Competition Bureau is calling on Ottawa to loosen its foreign ownership rules for airlines, which they argue have stifled competition in a sector that’s become a two-horse race between Air Canada and WestJet.

Niagara Falls is a world wonder. But did you ever wonder (see what we did there) what would happen if you funnelled Niagara Falls through a straw?
We love a good dose of nostalgia, and that’s just what the Hudson’s Bay in St. Albert, Alberta, gave us when it opened its 1995 time capsule. It wasn’t supposed to be opened until 2045, but now that the historic business has gone under, what choice did they have? Inside, an HBC comic book, an Eagles CD, and The Lion King soundtrack on cassette, just to name a few.
