Discovery Day YT
Good morning!
Did you know? In August 1896, George Carmack, his wife Kate Carmack, her brother Skookum Jim, and their nephew Dawson Charlie discovered gold in what is now known as Bonanza Creek. Soon after came one of the world's greatest gold rush stampedes with nearly 100,000 people attempting to strike it rich in the Klondike gold fields of Yukon Territory.
This coming Monday is Discovery Day, when the Yukon celebrates its grand history with a weekend festival in Dawson City, known as Discovery Days. From family-friendly events, such as a parade and a pipe band on the Midnight Dome, to a literary tour, fastball tournament, and arts festival, there’s barely enough time in the day to do and see everything!

Scooters have become all the rage these days and can sure-as-heck be a fun way to get around a city. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if they get banned sometime soon, as e-scooter injuries have shot up as much as 60% in recent years.
We’ve always been surprised at how lacklustre Montréal’s Trudeau International Airport is, especially considering how famous a city Montréal is. Perhaps that is changing now that $10 billion is being invested in its renovation, which will make room for 13 million extra customers by 2035.
No shows hurt a restaurant’s bottom line. In Québec, for example, that number sits at a whopping $49,000 loss to the average restaurant each year. This has inspired a new law allowing restaurants to charge $10 for a no-show.
