Things to Do in Canada 242

Whiteshell Provincial Park

Good morning!

Did you know? One of Canada’s most credible and well-documented UFO sightings occurred within Manitoba’s Whiteshell Provincial Park. Known as the Falcon Lake Incident, the story of Stephen Michalak and his encounter back in 1967 will certainly leave you questioning the universe around you. The site can be visited by horseback (which you’ll see in our video and article below) and has even made its way onto a Canadian silver coin.

But as obscure as that story is, it’s not the only odd thing to take place in Whiteshell Provincial Park. West Hawk Lake, for example, is Manitoba’s deepest lake, and it was created by a meteorite smashing into the Earth. How cool is that?

We just got back from Whiteshell Provincial Park and truly became one of our favourite places in the country! Learn more about it in the 242nd edition of the Weekly Goose, which features our latest video, our latest travel guide, and more!
