Weekly Goose 127

Good morning!

Did you know? Prior to the pandemic, Canada received approximately 32 million tourists each year, making it the 9th most visited country in the world. Although those numbers haven’t returned yet, we are getting close.

Speaking of tourism, let’s talk about tours. Since we’ve been asked many times about the best tours in Canada, we’ve been working hard to put together travel guides for various destinations. From coast to coast to coast, there are thousands of different tours you could take. From whale-watching and helicopter tours to food tours and ghost tours, there’s something for everyone. While we still have many we’re working on, we wanted to share the ones we’ve published over the last couple of months.

So, in the 127th edition of the Weekly Goose, take a look at some of the best tours in Victoria, Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, Niagara Falls, Kelowna, and Ottawa.

Happy travels!

If you’re thinking of doing some tours in Canada, you might consider a road trip. Canada, in our opinion, is the best country for road trips. Although this video is a couple of years old, these are still some of the best road trips in the country.

Beaver Bites

Travel news in Canada.

  • UNESCO reaffirms threats to Wood Buffalo National Park (Canada’s largest national park) due to environmental threats from dams, oilsands development and climate change. Roughly half of what makes the park a special place is deteriorating, mostly because of water quality and quantity.

  • We’ve all seen rainbow crosswalks by now but Edmonton is adding more colours to its asphalt with a Métis Flag and Sash. Designed by Lance Cardinal, he is hoping this design will bring recognition and pride to the Métis people of Edmonton and create a conversation around representation and land recognition.

  • With the Calgary Stampede now off to the races, it’s time to talk about the Canadian Tuxedo. Is it suddenly back in fashion and is it even Canadian?

  • Since we first tossed clothes into the dryer, we’ve been throwing all that leftover lint into the garbage. We had no idea there were so many brilliant uses for lint in gardens and yards…

  • Wheelies is bringing the 80s back to Ottawa with a new roller skating centre that’s perfect for a romantic date or a family night out.

  • Last, but not least, Southern Alberta is getting a new winery. However, instead of grapes, Little Gem Winery is using sweet and delicious Haskap berries. It’s located near Lethbridge and is now open for tastings and tours.
